Yes, I have finished. I actually thought I was just sent a text document with the rules, but it seems instead he sent me a generating program instead. This post will be mostly a list, with a few notes scattered here and there.

Hello, and it seems I may be back. Guzzling Barq's and talking to myself while trying not to go completely insane.
Lately, my new Shadowrun 4th ED GM has been poking me a bit to remake my character using the karma system. I will supposedly love it. Now, to do this, I'm going to show you my notes for the original character, followed by a remake using the karma system in the next post. Of course by show you, I mean show me as I'm the only one who will actually be reading this in all seriousness.
Ok, we start with 400 points in the original system and we begin, since my character is an adept, by purchasing the ADEPT quality, meaning I now have 395 points to work with. This character is also a human, which does not require additional BP cost.
Alright, we're going to start with attributes.
Here is a breakdown from the book on how attributes work.
1 - Weak
2 - Underdeveloped
3 - Typical
4 - Improved
5 - Superior
6 - Maximum Unmodified Human
Essence starts at level 6 without any cost, meaning we still have 395 points to work with. My character's (who now shall be known as Dark Horse) body, which is the stat that acts kind of like how in shape the character is, how Dark Horse heals, ETC, will be extended to 4/6. 6 being the maximum for humans in every stat. Dark Horse is a physical adept, and he's very special in some ways. So he needs to be tough. Each level costs 10 BP so we're left with 365 points. Dark Horse also needs to be agile for this special purpose, so we will expend another 30 points to bring his agility up to 4/6. This leaves us now with 335 points. His intuition is his "mental alertness" and as such also needs to be high on this character. Trust me on this. Another 4/6 brings us to 305 points. Also his strength, which is fairly straightforward as just what his muscles can do, needs also to be at 4/6. So now we are left with 275. Reaction, Charisma, Logic (raw brainpower), and Willpower will be at 3. Costing 20 points each that leaves me with 195 to work with. My magic stat is listed way down the page, but I'm transplanting it back up here. With permission I purchased the full 6 levels for 65 points (the last level costs 25 BP) leaving us with 130 points. I hope to god my math was good when I made this character. I took my Edge up to 3 which according to my notes costs 10 points, leaving me with 120 points (probably never going to use edge). Initiative is just Reaction and Intuition together so that is a 7, at no cost.
Next we're going to go into Qualities, which can add or remove points from your total depending on the quality. We already have adept, so let's see what else we need. I picked quick healing, which costs 10BP, bringing my total down to 110 points. First impression costs 5 BP, so now we're down to 105 points. Now, on the negative side, I picked Sensitive System, which basically means cyberware and bioware will mess me up something good, which gives me back 15 points, bringing my total back up to 120. Bad Luck (the reason I will probably never use Edge) gives me back 20, bringing my total back up to 140.
Here are how active skills work, according to the book.
0 - Untrained
1 - Beginner
2 - Novice
3 - Professional
4 - Veteran
5 - Expert
6 - Elite
7 - Legendary
Now, onto active skills, I started with Unarmed Combat 5 with a specialization in Martial Arts. This costs a total of 22 points, bringing the total down to 118. Next, we bring Gymnastics up to 4 with no speciality. This costs 16 points, bringing our totals down to 102. Next I bought 4 points in the Stealth skill group, bringing Disguise, Infiltration, Palming and Shadowing up. Skill groups cost 10 points per level, meaning we are left with 62 points. I also purchased 5 levels in Dodge, specializing in Ranged. This also cost 22 points, bringing our totals down to 40. Last I put 2 points in Blades. At a cost of 8 points, this brings totals down to 32 points. Yes, if you've noticed by now, this character has no skills in firearms. This is a bit of a gambit, but I've played these sorts of characters fairly reliably in the past. If you've noticed, I also seem to have completely forgotten social skills, perhaps I will be able to fix this in the transfer.
I put 16 points into starting gear, bringing my nuyen to 80,000 and my BP count down to 16 points.
I purchased one 2 Connection rated, 6 Loyalty Rated Contact (James Blather), and one 4 Connection rated, 4 Loyalty Rated contact (Edwina Fairchild) for 16 points total, leaving me with no points.
Now, knowledge skills have their own point system. (Logic + Intuition) x 3. Which means my totals start as 21 points. I expend 5 points into Magical Theory, 5 into Criminal Organizations, 4 into Music, 4 into Busking (I'm not sure if I meant what makes a crowd scream or what), and 3 into an additional Language, Japanese. My character speaks English naturally.
Onto Adept Powers (some of these aren't in the 4th ED Rulebook, but in an additional book provided by my GM at the time of character creation. I have 6 points to spend on these (equal to my Magic rating). I spent .5 points on Killing Hands, which can turn the damage from my unarmed attacks from Stun to Physical, bringing my points to 5.5. I then spent .25 points on Cloak which appears to be in the book I don't have access to at the moment, bringing my total to 5.25 points. I next spent .25 more points on Linguistics, which is also from the other book, but basically under the right conditions, I have the chance to permanently learn a point of any language. This brings to current total to 5. I expended .5 points on 2 levels of Great Leap, which lets you jump higher and further, bringing my total to 4.5 points, plus I took 2 levels of Freefall, which I believe is also in the other book, which lets you fall further without hurting yourself, for another .5 points, bringing the total to 4. Another .5 goes to Inertia Strike, also in the other book, and also not sure what it does, bringing my totals to 3.5 points. Another .5 to Enthralling Performance, which is probably related to my knowledge skill of Busking, bringing my total to 3 points. Next I put 2 levels and .5 points into Missile Parry which lets me hit slower thrown objects out of the air and catch them, this brings my total to 2.50 points. Next I spent .5 points on two levels of Penetrating Strike, which is also in the other book, bringing my total 2 points. Next I bought a point of Smashing Strike for 1 point, bringing my total to 1 point. I expend .25 points to allow my character to use Thermographic vision and additional .25 to allow for Flare Compensation so as not to get blinded by flash grenades and the like, bringing my total to .5 points. Lastly, I spend the last .5 points on another skill from the book I don't own, Motion Sense, leaving me with no points.
Next I move into the gear, which I will be providing in a decending list.

First, I wanted to apologize for hyping the thing I was going to be bringing out, and then not... but there's still a ton of work needed before I can bring it out to ANYONE.
Anyway...
Memento - I'm thinking this is a new edition, because it has a fancy package and I've never seen it in the stores before. It's two discs and I've fallen far into love with the packaging. It's so... wonderful. Something about it, the kid in me adores. I liked it when it first came to home video, but I'll have to take another look.
Fight Club - Nope, never seen it. The packaging was torn to shreds but it looks like the disc is still in there.
X-Men - Another DVD I've purchased for the Rifftrax track.

You're Ulysses!
by James Joyce
Most people are convinced that you don't make any sense, but compared
to what else you could say, what you're saying now makes tons of sense. What people do
understand about you is your vulgarity, which has convinced people that you are at once
brilliant and repugnant. Meanwhile you are content to wander around aimlessly, taking in
the sights and sounds of the city. What you see is vast, almost limitless, and brings you
additional fame. When no one is looking, you dream of being a Greek folk hero.

It's going to be at least a few more days before my stupid new thing is ready.

- Music:DJ Shadow - What Does Your Soul Look Like (Pt.4)
Apparently, when I banished it about a month ago, it didn't take, because it seems to have returned. I haven't seen it since I closed the laptop and opened it again 5 seconds later (and cleaned the monitor, but I'm not positive that helps), but I can feel it... stalking me through the digital landscape.
It also seems to have returned with video driver problems that preceded the last batch of incidents, though the driver is all updated.
